Energizing Green Smoothie

energizing green smoothie

This smoothie is one of my favorite Fundamental5 smoothies as it’s nutrient-dense and a great way to get your greens first thing in the morning. Hemp seeds are rich in protein, fiber and fatty acids, so I love adding them to smoothies as another great source of protein.



1 cup unsweetened flax milk (or your choice)

1 heaped tsp almond butter (or your favorite nut butter)

½ frozen banana

chopped ¼ avocado

2 large handfuls of baby spinach (or your favorite greens)

1 tsp maca powder

¼ cup ice

1 date, pitted (or monkfruit/Stevia for sugarfree)

2 tbsp hemp seeds

Toppings for crunch and chew:

1 tbsp hemp seeds

1 Tsp. Raw unsweetened cacao nibs


  1. Blend all ingredients in a high-powered blender for 50 seconds, or until spinach is completely blended.
  2. Top with hemp seeds and enjoy!
