DRINK Warm WATER WITH LEMON OR LIME EVERY MORNING
You may have heard that warm water with lemon is a great morning beverage.
Lemon water in the morning:
- Helps get your digestive enzymes working for better digestion throughout the day.
- Rehydrates your body after losing moisture while you sleep (we naturally wake up dehydrated.
- Gives you a great dose of vitamin C to start your day
Limes have similar benefits and are a great way to mix up your morning ritual with a new fresh flavor. I’ve been doing 20 oz warm water with lemon or lime every morning….sometimes I even add in my “Hydration with Benefits” (LINK here)
Your body assimilates warm water more easily than cold water. The water should be warm so it doesn’t kill all of the enzymes in the lemon or lime.
Squeeze in the juice from half a lemon or lime and sip away. Make sure to brush your teeth after or swish with plain water to help get the citrus off your teeth to protect your tooth enamel.
2.) CONSUME ONE SERVING OF PSYLLIUM HUSK FIBER EVERY MORNING
Fiber is the most underrated thing missing from your healthy lifestyle, but it’s absolutely crucial for optimized health.
I recommend at least 25-35 grams of fiber each day. Fiber comes from the indigestible parts of plants, so filling up on fresh veggies, whole fruits (not fruit juice) and consuming some whole grains can get you there. But I find that even with eating well, it can still be hard to reach 25 grams each day…that’s where Psyllium Husk comes in!
Getting at least 25 grams of fiber each day will:
- help you feel satiated (comfortably full)
- help debloat your belly
- Aid in better digestion
- increase your health
- Better Pooping
Psyllium is categorized as a “bulk-forming laxative” but don’t let that scare you. It doesn’t have any stimulating effects, it’s simply just straight-up fiber. It’s flavorless and easy to add to a smoothie (LINK SMOOTHIES), oatmeal or other blended food to quickly increase your fiber intake. It gelatinizes quickly, which will turn your smoothie into a pudding-like texture if it sits for more than 10-15 minutes. I like to blend it in with my smoothie and drink it right away, but you can add it to anything and let it sit if you like the texture.
Here is one that I like (Amazon Link) The only ingredient on the label should be psyllium husks….nothing else.
3.) Mint Tea After Dinner
Mint aids digestion, and it’s naturally sweet flavor (no actual sugar) makes it the perfect after-dinner drink. It also boosts your hydration and has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe your system. It also tastes great and can satisfy that nagging, sweet tooth! Here is one of my favorites:

Remember, a healthy lifestyle is created by small, consistent steps every day! If it’s simple, feels good, and makes us feel great, we will continue to do it!
